To you all, my deepest sympathy in Colin's passing. I didn't know Colin but he knew my Dad, Bob Larwood from E. L. Ruddy's and my sister, Janice Moffat from Home Depot. It is important for me to acknowledge the connection through my Dad and my sister to let you know you are in my thoughts. Colin was very talented and you must have been very proud of him! May all the love and memories in your hearts help you through this difficult time. With all my condolences your hearts will hold, Judy Hardy

I offer my deepest condolences to Colin's family and his Home Depot family. His warm smile, infectious laugh and love for life will be dearly missed. Colin was an individual who could always put a smile on your face and lived every day to the fullest. He always took the time to chat and share a story that resulted in laughter and a parting fond farewell until next time. Although there will be no next time, I will forever cherish my memories of a truly compassionate individual who brought joy to all who knew him.

Dearest Colin,
I am so deeply saddened to hear the news about your sudden passing. We had plans to get together in the New Year. I was looking forward to that very much, as I always enjoyed our lunches and coffee dates to catch up. I am so blessed to have met you and have had the honour of working with you for 10 years, but most of all gaining a lifelong friendship. We quickly bonded over our creativity, and I was in awe of your amazing painting and writing skills. During our time working together, you were always cheering me on, and encouraging me in my pursuit of following my dreams to become an educator. I will never forget that, and I will always treasure the many souvenirs you brought back with you from your travels and adventures. I will miss your smile, laugh, hilarious jokes and witty banter. What I will remember most is your zest for life, your love for your family and friends, your optimism, and the genuine and good-hearted soul you were, always giving so selflessly. Rest in peace my dear friend, until we meet again. Love, Kathy

Colin shined so bright in this world! He touched many lives around him through his kindness and sense of humour. We met at the Home Depot fifteen years ago. Every time we worked the same shift, he made sure to say hello and chat. He genuinely cared for others and always wanted to check in. I will miss his stories, his laugh and his gentle nature. Sending loving thoughts to his family and friends.
Until we meet again, Aries ❤️

I am very sad to hear that my dear friend Colin has passed. I worked with Colin many years ago at the Department of Highways in Burlington. We remet a few years ago and rekindled a great relationship. Lots of fun times were spent together! A great man, with a kind, and giving heart, and a tremendous sense of humour. Our loss is heavens gain. Sending condolences to all his family.

Colin was so full of light and laughter, and some witty banter too! Coming to work to see Colin in paint, I already knew I'd have a good day. I've known Colin more than 20 years, and I'm so glad I got the chance.
I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm still in shock at the passing of my good friend, Colin Edwards. He would have been 75 in April. We had actually made plans to celebrate this milestone with a lunch in Burlington when I came down in April to visit family and witness the solar eclipse on April 8, which was actually Colin's birthday. He didn't mind sharing this spectacle as the centre of attention on his birthday. It was his way. I shall certainly miss him and his presence in my life.
Colin and I first met at the Ancaster Home Depot 18 years ago and became good friends while working there in their Paint Department. He was my drinking and golfing buddy with us occasionally going out for lunch or dinner to sample the various fish and chip dinners offered by local area restaurants. His favourite restaurant in Burlington was The Thistle.
We also unknowingly lived in close proximity in Burlington to each other in the same neighborhood of New Street and Guelph Line in the 1970s and 1980s, sharing experiences of living there.
Since my moving to Elliot Lake in Northern Ontario 6 years ago, we keep in contact via Messenger on a regular basis. With both of us being fans of The Goon Show, he was Neddy and I was Seegoon. I last talked with Colin the week before Christmas via Messenger video chat on December 18th and on Christmas Day wishing each other Merry Christmas. Before hearing the news of his passing yesterday (Monday) morning, we had planned on a video chat this week.
Unfortunately, I regretfully will not be able to attend the funeral service in Hamilton on January 27.
My sincerest condolences to Colin's family on the loss of their brother and uncle. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Colin was a good man and a good person with a kind, humble, generous and gentle soul with a great sense of humour and great empathy. A true friend and gentleman. We're all the poorer now without his presence. Rest in peace, my dear Neddy. You are in a better place now.
