Obituary of Sydna Doreen Helps

HELPS, Sydna Doreen At her residence in Stoney Creek, on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in her 70th year. Loved mother of William. Beloved daughter of the late Samuel and Edna Helps. Dear sister of Elsie and Basil Vernon and Dennis Helps. Will also be sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Sydna attended St. Hilda’s Secondary School in Jamaica and then trained as a Nurse at Stobhill Hospital in Glasgow Scotland. She worked as a Nursing Sister in Zambia and moved to Canada where she worked at McMaster University Medical Centre until her retirement. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Thursday, March 15th from 6-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 1 p.m. Interment Eastlawn Cemetery.
