Obituary of Marija Rakas
It is with great sadness and with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marija Rakas. Marija departed from this world peacefully on Wednesday, March 27th, at Clarion Nursing Home in Hamilton, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 83 years old.
Beloved wife of Stevo, loving mother of her son Djuro (Danica) and daughter Mirjana. Adoring grandmother of Dimitri, Nik, Marina and Marko.
Born into a loving family, Marija’s roots extended both in Canada and in Serbia. She is predeceased by three sisters and four brothers and is survived by her brother Luka and sister Andjelka.
Marija was a beacon of kindness and warmth, her gentle spirit touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her . Her love knew no bounds; she had an extraordinary capacity to embrace everyone she encountered with open arms and a genuine smile. Marija was one of those rare souls whose presence radiated pure joy and compassion.
While we mourn her physical absence, we find solace in the countless memories and the enduring love she bestowed upon us.
She will be dearly missed and never forgotten by many family, kumovi, and friends here and in Serbia. Her spirit will live in our hearts forever.
