Obituary of Margorie Tossell nee Ecker

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother Margorie on May 11, 2024 in her 97^th year at Grace Villa LTC. Wife of the late Harold (2006) 61 years. Loving mother of Joan and husband Bill Davie Sr., and Lyle and the late Cindy Tossell. Cherished Grandma to Elizabeth (Randy Guitard), Bill Jr. (Renee) and Jeffery. Great Grandma T to Rachel Guitard (Bryan), Cameron (Kelly) Chaz, Brock, Nicholas and Abigail. Great-Great Grandma to 6. Loving sister to Dorothy (late Jim Tomlinson), Malcolm Ecker (late Patricia), the late Marie (Howard Laidman), Harvey Ecker (Late Bonita), and Larry Ecker (Diane). She will be fondly missed by her many nieces and nephews, Tossell family of Guelph, and the Shannons of York.

Margorie was a life-time member of the Woodburn Women’s Institute (78 years). She was widely known for her beautiful knitting and crocheting. Her hands were never still.

Visitations will take place on Wednesday, May 15 from 5-8 p.m. at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek. A graveside service, all are welcome, will take place on Thursday, May 16 at 11 a.m. at the Binbrook United Church Cemetery, Hwy 56 and Cemetery Rd, Binbrook. Refreshments to follow at Southbrook Golf Course, 4349 Hwy 56, Binbrook.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Grace Villa, the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to all staff and caregivers at Grace Villa for their outstanding and dedicated care of Mom these last few years.
