Obituary of Marjorie Marion Parker

With heavy hearts and so much gratitude for a life well lived we announce the passing of Marjorie Marion Parker (Trewin) at the age of 97 on July 16, 2024 at Shalom Manor, Grimsby, Ontario. Predeceased by her loving husband Arthur Lawrence (2021) and survived by her sister Florence (Kodis). She was a cherished mother to Carol (Charles), Wendy (Valerio) and Bruce (Terri). Marjorie will be greatly missed by her eight grandchildren, and her seven great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Mom was one of 10 siblings, made from hardy down eastern stock and did not believe in sitting around. She instilled in us all, a positive attitude and good work ethic, for which we are so grateful. We will surely miss her daily phones calls making sure we were all healthy and happy. She looked at the world as a place to be discovered and travelled and that is exactly what she did. Pictures from around the world include her riding on camels, touring the Vatican, standing on the beaches of Normandy to travelling on a helicopter, in her 80’s, taking off from the cruise ship headed up to the Alaskan glaciers. She always led by example showing that nothing was off limits and age only a number. When dad no longer wanted to travel, she went with, “the girls”, as she loving referred to them, Pat, Edna and Elma her lifelong friends.

We were so fortunate when at the age of 95 and mom needed additional help, she was able to transition into such a caring facility as Shalom. Our family is so deeply grateful and wish to extend our appreciation to the entire staff on the third floor, for the outstanding care, kindness, compassion and dedication provided to not only our mother but our whole family right thru to her passing.

As a family we will do what mom would want us to do, go out and enjoy life because as she would say, there is so much to see and do now get going! Love and miss you mom to the ends of the earth. Cremation has already taken place to be followed by a private burial.
