Obituary of Ronald "Ronnie" Wahlman
We are grief stricken by the loss of Ron. He always thought of others first and never complained even when very ill. He will be missed dearly by his daughter, Carolynne. I love you dad. Ronnie came from a large family, parents Margaret and Archie, and his siblings David, Margie, Art, Archie, Jimmy, Grace and Audrey, all predeceased. Predeceased by his son-in-law Rick. He is survived by Tony DiCecca, a great brother-in-law, and many nieces and nephews and their families from whom he was grateful to have their love and support. He was formerly married to Louise and loved his Arnold in-law family, thinking highly of them.
Ron founded Tigertown Leasing, including on Kenilworth Avenue, then moving to Stoney Creek. He was that guy people liked right away. Given his salesman persona, he would chat for hours with friends, customers, staff, the business community, and to dad most important with his family. “Ronnie” aka “The Wonk” grew up in downtown Hamilton, playing hockey, making many lifelong friends, betting on and owning horses, and going to Tiger Cat games (even when grumbling about their lack of wins). Dad operated his business for over 50 years, with appreciation for the support of many people over the years. He loved his work because of the people- with a special thank you to Linda, Pam, Dawn, George, Joe H and Pat M. He loved Florida, Blue Mountain, and the people associated with both places. There are many friends and colleagues that deserve a thank you who I know will miss him, too numerous to mention. Much appreciation to all staff at Lakeview.
The family will honour Ron during visitation at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 9 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery. As sympathy expression, donations may be made to the Cancer Assistance Program or Hamilton-Burlington SPCA given dad’s love for Sadie, from where Sadie was rescued.
