Obituary of Elaine Winchester
It is with deep sadness that the family of Elaine Winchester share the news of her gentle passing surrounded by the love of her family at St. Peter’s Hospital in the early minutes of the morning of Sunday, Oct 27, 2024 after an 8 month struggle with cancer. She was the loving wife, best friend & soul mate to Warren for over 53 years. Loving and much-loved mother to her sons Mark, his wife Elizabeth and Brian and his wife Julie. Her grandchildren, Hunter, Ella, Harrison, Jackson and Alice were the centre of her life whom she loved beyond measure. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Violet Turner, brothers Frank and David, sister Linda Walsh and niece Leslie.
Fondly remembered by her sisters in law, niece, nephews, their families and her Stitch N Bitch family, The Smock Heads. Memories were made at her Sunday and Holiday family dinners, slow cooked roast beef with her legendary Yorkshire Pudding finished with her killer chocolate fudge brownies. Her legacy will live on through the hand crafted quilts and cross stitched Christmas stockings she created with love for each family member. Her happy place was Muskoka in all four seasons, a place she called her serenity and tranquillity.
Our family extends its heartfelt thanks to the Health Care Professionals at Joseph Brant Hospital, St Joseph’s Hospital, Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, St Peter’s Hospital, Bayshore and CBI Health for their compassionate caring throughout her difficult journey. Cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek. Please bring your memories to share. Online condolences may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
