Obituary of Sophie Derbyshire

(nee Storoschuk)

Passed away at home on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024, at the age of 93. Sophie was born in Vita, Manitoba on Monday, August 25th, 1931, and was the oldest of six children.

She grew up in Norfolk County, Ontario and moved to Hamilton at the age of 19. Sophie worked at Westinghouse, Hotpoint and Camco until her retirement at the age of 65. Sophie was a proud and active member of UNIFOR Local 504, and avid supporter of the Royal Canadian Legion and a longtime Tiger Cat fan.

Sophie is predeceased by her brothers Paul and Morris and survived by her sisters Nettie and Patti and brother Peter. As per her wishes, Sophie has been cremated. There will be a private interment at a later date. Online condolences and notes of sympathy may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
