Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Hillgartner

HILLGARTNER, Mary Elizabeth (nee Bain) Peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, in her 88th year. Survived by Ralph, her loving husband of almost 58 years (Sept.), her children, Ellen (Bob), Glen (Elizabeth), Steve, Gord, Gail (Cliff), Kathy (Mark), her grandchildren, Rachel (Craig), Christy (Kyle), Jeffrey, Beth, her great-grandchildren, Brody, Parker, Kaleb, her sister Esther (the late Bob Button), her sister-in-law Edna (the late Roy Flewelling) and brother-in-law Norman (the late Mabel Robinson). Predeceased by her siblings, Lindsay Bain, Dorothy Brady (Jack), Douglas Bain (Ada), Bill Bain (Becky), twin sister Sheila Connolly, & Catherine Bain. She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Mary was always happiest pressing flowers and crafting them into greeting cards, watching Blue Jay games, and enjoying get togethers in Grimsby with friends and family for Sunday dinners & B.B.Q.’s, euchre and New Year Eve’s parties. Over the years she was an active member in the Binbrook United Church U.C.W., church choir, and the Women’s Institute. Many special thanks to the staff at Heritage Green Nursing Home for their excellent care. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday, August 9th from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held at Binbrook United Church on Tuesday August 10th at 11 a.m. Interment Binbrook United Church Cemetery.
