Obituary of Arend Hollander

HOLLANDER, Arend At the Hamilton General Hospital on Saturday, April 28, 2012, in his 88th year. Beloved husband of the late Antonia. Loved father of Bill (Martine Gregoire), Barbara (Frank Jalsevac) and Robert. Dearest grand-father of Krista (Mike), Laura (Brendan), Justin, Drew and Charlie. Predeceased by his eight brothers and sisters. Survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Holland. Arend was a Veteran of the Dutch Army and the Underground, and a retired employee of Stelco No. 2, Rod Mill. In his retirement he was an avid wood carver, took up golf, and was a longtime Tiger Cat supporter. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, May 2nd at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow.
