Obituary of Dorothy Jacobson

JACOBSON, Dorothy (nee Ohrling) It is with sadness that the family of Dorothy Jacobson announce her peaceful passing on Friday, November 21, 2008 at the Arbour Creek Nursing Home in Stoney Creek, Ontario. Dorothy was born in Stellarton, Nova Scotia on March 10, 1920 and moved to Kirkland Lake, Ontario when she was very young where she was raised by her grandparents. She married Edgar Jacobson in Kirkland Lake in 1938 and raised her seven children there – Noreen, Lillian, Betty, Gordon, Carl, Fred, and Ken. Dorothy lived in Hamilton, Ontario for many years and spent the last 2 years as a resident of Arbour Creek Nursing Home. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Edgar, daughter Noreen and sons Gordon (Jake) and Carl. Also predeceasing her were two granddaughters, Sharon and Laurie Heard. She is survived by her daughters Lillian (Charles Spanton) of Rice Lake, Ontario & Florida, and Betty (Robert Skippen) of Calgary, Alberta, and sons Fred (Linda) of Hamilton, Ontario and Kenneth of Toronto, Ontario. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and interment will be held in Kirkland Lake, Ontario in summer of 2009. Arrangements entrusted to Donald V.
