Obituary of Marie Ann Johnson

JOHNSON, Marie Ann Peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital on September 9, 2013, Marie Ann Johnson of 10 Village Green, Stoney Creek, Ontario, passed away at the age of 76. Marie was born in Hamilton on January 1, 1937 to Leonard and Estella (Filman) LaSalles; the New Year’s baby for that year. She married William J. Johnson on March 10, 1956 and remained so for 44 years until his death in 2000. A loving and devoted mother, Marie will be sadly missed by William (Bill) and wife Joanne of St. George, NB, grandchildren Alisha and Jeff Robbins, Elmsville, NB and Leslie and Michael Sparkes, Fredericton, NB as well as son Brian, Toronto and granddaughter Nicole. She is also survived by sisters Elizabeth (Betty) and Herbert Young, Stoney Creek and Norma Brown, Oakville; several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Marie is predeceased by brothers Gordon and Robert and sister Verna Ross. As a dedicated member of The Stoney Creek Legion, Marie delighted in both attending and working at the various functions and events held there. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Society. Marie’s family wish to thank Dr. Bev., Donna, Nola and the entire staff at St. Peter’s Hospital for their attentive support, kindness and constant care during her stay there.
