Obituary of Henryk Karwalajtys

KARWALAJTYS, Henryk It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Dziadzia, Henryk Karwalajtys, in his 89th year on January 30, 2011 at Norview Lodge in Simcoe, Ontario. Devoted husband to Tanya, and loving father to Krystyna (Wayne) from Stoney Creek, Donna (John) from Auckland, New Zealand, and Liz (Al) from Port Ryerse. Beloved grandfather to Teri, Tina (Dylan), Christopher (Krista), John, Michelle and Angus, and great-grandfather to Steven, Skyler, Henry and Pearson. He was our hero, protector and playmate and will be forever in our hearts. Originally from Poland, Henryk worked in Russia and Germany during WWII before immigrating to Canada where he worked in the mines in Kirkland Lake, and then at Dofasco in Hamilton for over 35 years, before retiring to Waterford, Ontario. His quiet strength, caring ways, and sense of humour will be missed by all who knew him. A private family service was held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home in Stoney Creek.
