Obituary of Tanya Karwalajtys

KARWALAJTYS, Tanya (November 13, 1925 – December 18, 2011) With sorrow we announce the passing of our dear Babcia, Tanya Karwalajtys, in her 87th year at Grandview Lodge in Dunnville, Ontario, after a long illness with Alzheimer’s Disease. Tanya is predeceased by her husband, Henryk Karwalajtys (October 27, 1922 - January 30, 2011). They lovingly took care of one another over many years of marriage. Missing her deeply are her daughters Krystyna (Wayne) from Stoney Creek, Donna (John) from Auckland, New Zealand, and Liz (Al) from Port Ryerse. Babcia will always be in the hearts of her grandchildren Teri, Tina (Dylan), Christopher (Krista), John, Michelle and Angus. She will watch over her great-grandsons Steven, Skyler, Henry and Pearson. She nurtured, challenged and loved us as no one else can! Originally from Russia, Tanya worked in Germany during World War II before immigrating to Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Canada with her husband and young daughter. They raised their family in Hamilton, and retired to Waterford, Ontario. Tanya’s passionate, playful and affectionate nature and her many talents will be cherished always.
