Obituary of Martin Thien Phu Nguyen
NGUYEN, Martin Thien Phu
It is with great sadness that the family of Martin Nguyen Thien Phu announces his sudden, yet peaceful and quiet passing on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the age of 14 due to heart failure. Martin leaves behind his loving mother and best friend Kim, stepfather Greg, beloved father Cong Khanh, stepmother Quyen, his cherished and adoring sisters Anna Uyen and Trinh, brother Anthony and sister Elizabeth. Martin will also be sadly missed by his aunt Tuyet, cousins Phuong and Trong and his many friends at Cardinal Newman High School and St. Francis Xavier Parish. Martin was a passionate music lover, brown belt in Karate, a “human calculator” and an amazing son, brother and friend. Martin’s greatest pleasures were cheeseburgers (no garnish!), chocolate ice cream, XBOX, reading anime, hanging with friends, rocking out on the guitar and playing piano. Martin loves to ride his bike down to the beach and take walks through all of Stoney Creek. Don’t be surprised if you see Martin’s angel walking along your path! The family would like to thank the emergency team at Joseph Brant Hospital for trying their best and to all of our friends for their support. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday and Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 10 a.m. Interment Our Lady of The Angels Catholic Cemetery. Martin was a caring, generous and gentle soul who was involved with a number of fundraising initiatives. In lieu of flowers, donations to Habitat for Humanity through Cardinal Newman High School would be appreciated by the family.
