Obituary of Gerald Alexander Timms

TIMMS, Gerald Alexander April 22, 1941- August 27, 2008 With great sadness, we announce the passing of Gerry in his 68th year, at his home lovingly surrounded by his family. Devoted husband and best friend for 47 years of Carolyne (Field). Loving father to Larry of Waterdown, Terri-Lynne and Terry Buote of Cambridge, Carrie and Ed Ramsay of London, Michelle and Jay O’Donnell of Stoney Creek. Very proud and devoted grandpa of Spencer and Matthew Timms, Sarah and Alexandria Buote, Zachary and Caitlyn Ramsay and Michael and Alison O’Donnell. Beloved son of the late Alexander and Estelle Timms (Cowdery) and son in law of Harry and Irene Field.(Stewart). Loving brother and brother in law of Bette (Timms) and James Field. Much loved brother in law of Dale and Tony Szalay, Henrietta and Hugh Parliament, Faye and Bill Lootsma, and Kathy and Philip Boadwin. Loving brother of Chris Timms and Nancy, predeceased by sister Donna (Herb) Wighton. Will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews and a legion of friends. Gerry was a devoted long time employee of Hamilton Boiler Works. Gerry was happiest watching his grandchildren playing their various sports and was always so proud of their accomplishments. Gerry devoted his life to his family and helping others, he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday, September 1, 2008 at 1 pm.
