It was a shock to hear Rex passed along with my Mom , what a painful week , then my Sister passing at 47 in April I am thankful we will all be together again someday. Rex was a nice guy and one of the first people who greeted me when I attended Stoney Creek Alliance. I got one of my first impressions of the culture and heart of that church from Rex. I stayed many years and contributed and was loved their. We all miss those bountiful days as well. His Son Darrell married my friend Leigh Anne who is such a great person, it was a grey time as well for us all... , I remember how happy Rex was at the wedding. What a compelling smile he had. Anyway I wanted to say something and not just think about it, I hope it is read by the family I know your pain .

It was quite a shock to us to find out Rex had passed away. We will miss Rex, we loved him very much. Rex will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour, the way he loved to tease, and most of all his devotion to Audrey. The last few years had been tough but he's finally at rest in heaven. Our thoughts and prayers are with his entire family at this time. Love, Brian, Valerie and Cynthia

This morning we were very shocked to read of Rex's passing. We had such good times together when we lived in Ancaster as well as their visit with us in Abbotsford. We served together at Stoney Creek Alliance in choir and we remember Rex was always organizing social events. We offer our most sincere condolences and love to Audrey and all of the Mills family. When I heard of Rex going to be with the Lord, I sat down this morning and played The Holy City in his honor. We haven't been in touch for several years but these are friends we will never forget. Love and prayers, Don and Vera Wild

Brass Alliance Band posted a condolence

Rex was a founding member of our band and, although he had to finally give up playing his horn with us, he was always considered a part of us and will be greatly missed. He was our treasurer for many years and, amongst other functions, arranged many times for us to enjoy our Christmas dinners at the Glendale golf course. Rex's fetish with ties was always sure to keep us in uniform....with ties being changed at least every 3 years. Rex's sence of humor was quite unique, sometimes leaving us to wonder if he was actually joking or not, of course that was all part of the fun. Our condolences to the Mills family are sincere and heartfelt as was our love for Rex, a true brother in Christ.

We loved Rex very much. I will miss him at our Tuesday morning Seniors Get Together. Despite his own problems, Rex always asked about others. We will remember Rex and Paul Cairns for their initiations of the New Pastors ie: tie tricks. Until we meet again have fun up in Heaven " Well Done Good and Faithful Servant ". Our prayers are with you all.
