Obituary of Rex George Mills

Passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ with his family by his side on Sunday February 23,2014, in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Audrey (Bryers) for 61 years. Loving and devoted father to Darrell and his wife Leigh-Anne and Wayne and his wife Judy. Cherished grandfather of Laura, Courtney, David (Lindsay), Philip (Kristy), Matthew (Riely), Sarah, Jessica and Daniel and great- grandfather of Caleb, Jacob and Clara. Predeceased by his sisters Gwendolyn Kershaw (Stan) and Inez McPhail (Gordon). Dear brother-in-law of Paul Bryers (Claudia). Will also be missed by nieces and nephews; Valerie Whittaker (Brian), Kerry Enns (Peter), Mark (Jeannie) and great uncle to Cynthia Whittaker and Jeffrey Whittaker (Debbie). Rex was a faithful member of Delta Tabernacle, Stoney Creek Alliance Church and The Salvation Army. He was a long time member of The Brass Alliance, and for many years was actively involved in Stoney Creek Minor Hockey. Rex was also a long time member of Glendale Golf and Country Club. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at The Salvation Army Winterberry Heights Church, Paramount Dr. and Winterberry Dr., on Thursday, February 27 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
