Gone from us, but not too far
Just beyond the evening star
Above the clouds he now calls home
He's gone ahead, but not alone
Loved ones waiting, take his hand
And smile because they understand
That Heaven's highway lead the way
Into this new and brighter day
No earthly worries, cares or woes
No adversaries, opponents, foes
Now basking in the greatest love
Bestowed on him by God above
His name was called, unto the Throne
Finally he's made it home
And now he waits, our time to come
We all will join him, one by one
Until that time, he's in your heart
You're really not so far apart
For memories he left behind
Remind you of the happy times
Give thanks for them, for truth be told
They're worth more than money, more than gold
That is the gift he left to you
So cherish them, they'll see you through
Yes, there'll be times you still shed tears
You'll shed a few throughout the years
There will also be those times you smile
When you think about him for a while
He wouldn't want to see you cry
He knows we'll see him by and by
