You will always be a gentleman. You love my cooking and I loved doing it for you and Helga. Kessler and spätzle, butter tarts and more... You entered our lives over 50 years ago and became a special part of our family instantly. A very special man and always will be in our hearts. Rest in Peace Dear Werner. Love Berney & Gloria

Dear Helga; We were so sorry to hear that you have lost Werner, your life partner of so many years. You were an unstoppable duo. It was only just a few years ago that you both, without hesitation, hopped a plane to attend Tricia and Ryan's wedding. I was always pleased to relate the sorry of our guests spanning the ages of 90 yrs.(Werner) to our newest cousin arrival of 3mths. Your spirit to live life to it's fullest impressed us all . Take care Helga. Our thoughts are with you Gail & Ron Bell

Dear Helga: What to say when our hearts are filled with memories so poignant, we can hardly express them. As you know, Onkel Werner was much more than an uncle to me, he was a surrogate father. Living with you both and Claudia in the 1960s established my life's trajectory and provided me with endless memories. After Werner walked me down the aisle to marry my Ralph, I was delighted to usher you both into my new family, which welcomed you with open arms. All seasonal occasions were celebrated together, all rites of passage, wonderful holidays at our family cottage. It was a joy to have Werner grace our table, since I love to cook and Werner loved to eat. A chef can't ask for more. Sweet reminiscing.. what balm for the soul. I shall miss my Onkel dearly, and Helga, I hope you will find peace in his passing, as he felt long deserved relief. Ingrid

I will always remembering camping at the Pineries on Lake Huron with Claudia and her family, and Mr. Fritsch waking us up at some ungodly hour to go for a morning swim in the lake (brrrr!!!) Without you opening your heart and home, inviting Ingrid to come to Canada, we would never have met. You welcomed us both and we joined each others families, and that relationship flourished through the years. You will be sorely missed but the memories will never be lost. Rest in peace mein Freund. Although he was of a different generation, Werner and I had a warm camaraderie which I will miss. Thoughtful and kind, and funny too, he lived through hard times and came through with his integrity intact. Goodbye, Werner !

Dear Helga & family: George and I were deeply saddened to read about the passing of Werner. For many years your walks took you past our home on Lakegate Drive and we enjoyed our chats. George & Werner enjoyed talking about our vintage Volkswagens. We often thought of you both and missed seeing you on your outings. It was a pleasure and we always commented what a beautiful couple you were. You were so lucky to have had each other and we know his loss will not be easy for you. Remember the wonderful memories and take care. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Helga & your daughter Claudia and family. Neighbourhood friends. George & Donna Gagnon.
