Obituary of Werner Anton Fritsch
At last at peace, shedding the burden of aging, Werner Anton Fritsch passed away quietly at St. Peter’s Hospital, Hamilton on January 28, 2015. At the noble age of 96, he was an example of inner strength and kindness. Born in Berlin, Germany he participated in the 1936 Berlin Olympics which led him to many athletic feats throughout his long and productive life. Tennis, skiing and travel were his passions. Intellectually he was a keen observer, a devoted husband, father and uncle. His care, generosity and dry humour will be greatly missed by many but mostly by his family. Werner is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helga Fritsch of Stoney Creek, his daughter Claudia and husband Weldon Bosworth of New Hampshire, his grandchildren Dana and Daniel Abdinoor of Hawaii and Boston, his niece Ingrid and husband Ralph Champion and family of Port Dover, Milton and Toronto.
