She was the best, kindest and most formidable woman I ever met and I spent my life writing about famous and successful women around the world. It was an honour to know her.

Gladys, Gramma, Ma, Mrs. B. I have called her by all these names, as many people have. I have had great affection for this wonderful lady since I was a young girl. She had a great sense of humour, beautiful inside and out. She was strong. Raising her family and loving them was her life. She needed that sense of humour to deal with her rowdy bunch of children and their friends. I say this with a smile, remembering the fun she had when she was at the family reunions with the people she loved. She was loved so much by so many and will be missed by all. Gramma was one of the best people I know. Her beautiful blue eyes would sparkle when she laughed. I will keep that memory with me. To all the Bowley's and friends of Gramma, my thoughts are with you. Take care of each other. Laurel

Sorry to hear of your Mum's passing. I hadn't seen her in a few years but I would inquire about her through my mother in law Theresa. It was a pleasure chatting with your Mum, maybe because we were both from over the pond. She was a kind lady who always took the time to ask what was going on in your life. You were very lucky to have had such a mother. Pauline Schweitzer

Dear Gramma, Hubba hubba what a figure, two more legs you'd look like trigger is just one of the funny funny things I shall remember you by. I will miss so much about you, just knowing your at peace is helping me deal with this. You were more than my gramma that drove for 7 hours in van to visit me at the age of 92, or the lady who laid on my pull out couch with me (with lots of junk food I might add) while we watched the movie People under the stairs and the next day we had our marathon of Who's line is it anyway..... You were my best friend Everyone has that special person that no matter what or when you know that you can call that person or go see them and never hear or see anything but love in their eyes or their voice. For me that was you. I also remember how happy you were when you met Princess Tatiana in another visit at the war museum, god it was easy to make you happy you were always smiling no matter what. I will miss your smile, your hugs, your letters and calls even though you hated to wear your hearing aid and always pretended that you couldn't find it (we all knew you were hiding it ha ha) . I will miss all of you.....but i have lots of fond/funny memories of you but the best one is of you trying to get ready for picnic day with granddad waiting in the Datsun, beeping the horn, you running around in your bra with your wig in your hands trying to find your brush, but uncle lens dog bruetues took it and thats how i will get by without you ,with a smile and just a "darn dog" as my comment. Once you get to Heaven your gonna be busy pinning Granddads pants to his back pocket and cleaning his classes cause thats you, always taking care of everyone of us. While your there say hi to my mom and everyone else for me. So, for now Gram, rest in peace and like you said last Sunday, I'll see you when I see you. PS..Incase your wondering....today is Saturday Gram, the first day of my life without you...gonna miss you Love you lots xoxoxo Your granddaughter and your faithful admirer forever Sherry Lynn

I don't know if you remember who I am but I lived on the Beach strip and was a friend of Sandra's. I remember your Mother well, she was always so friendly and welcoming to me in her busy life. Your entire family were very fortunate to have her as your Mum. Mrs. Bowley had a long and rich life with all of you and I am so very sorry for your loss. Bev Gaskell Burlington, Ont.
