Obituary of Peter Dow

DOW, Peter (November 28, 1947-March 17, 2009) During a valiant battle with leukemia, Peter carried on with the loving help of family and friends and sheer determination with his strength and courage admired by all, and peacefully passed while in the care of his family. Loving husband of Erma Dow (Nee, Briggs), cherished father of Todd (Julie Dow) and Stacey (Paul Simpson), son of the late Burpee and Jennifer Dow (Nee: Adair) and brother Herbert. Adored brother of Gene, Leonard, Ronald and David. Peter's grand-children Noah, Katie, Ben and Max will have many fond memories of their Grandfather. He was an avid gardener, consummate friend and a wicked storyteller, which we hope will continue on in his memory. Peter's greatest joy was his family and he took great pride in his children, their spouses and his grandchildren. He was a good and honest man and lived by his word. We are thankful to the caring staff and doctors at McMaster Hospital, V.O.N. and C.C.A.C. You provided great comfort in a long and hard journey, with a special thank you to Dr. D. Robinson, Doreen McNabb, Rebecca and Dr. Walker. The family will receive friends at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral Service in the chapel on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation would be appreciated.
