I worked with Gord in the Criminal Investigation Division for several years and always found him to be a gentleman and a good colleague. Even after he retired and turned full time to car sales, I'd bump into him now and again and found him to be "the same old Gord". It was my pleasure to have known him. Dear Ellen Please accept our condolences on Gord's passing. We consider ourselves fortunate in having known the two of you are a couple----a dynamic duo of the Niagara Peninsula. We particularly remember those terrific tours you led for the Hamilton Burlington Friendship Force. Your knowledge of the area gave visitors from other countries an appreciation of The Falls--as well as people like Gail and myself who thought we knew the place. Dear Ellen & Family: It is with great sadness that I learned of Gord's passing. Lucy and I send our most sincere condolences to you and your family at the loss of such a dear loved one. Gord and I shared some memorable times together, beginning in Grade eight at R.L Hyslop Public school and continuing on through our high school days at Saltfleet High. To the Ackerman family members listed in the obituary It is with sadness, surprise, and shock that we learned of Gordon's passing. I cannot tell you how much I will miss his conversations at our get-togethers, always current and informative. He was a gentle giant with a heart of gold. The shock was that it came so suddenly. I wish I had a chance to see him at least one more time which I fully expected to happen. But perhaps it was best this way because I have a vivid, clear and happy picture of his face in my mind. So sorry for your loss to the whole family. His spirit will live among us, who knew him, and he will never be forgotten.
