Obituary of Gordon Ackerman

ACKERMAN, Gordon Stewart It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon S. Ackerman on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in his 83rd year.Loving husband and best friend of Ellen for 63 years. Devoted dad of Cathy Mrmak (Nick), Kim Hawkins, Gordon (Rita), Gord Sleeth. Predeceased by daughter Gail Sleeth and son-in-law Steven Hawkins. Loving Papa to Erin (Allen), Jocelyn, Melissa (John), Christopher, Brittney, Derrick and Marko (Annemarie). Great-Papa to Ethan, Steel, Ava and Markus. Survived by his sister Rowena Kenny (Ross). Gord will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by extended family and friends. Gord retired in 1987 from the Hamilton Wentworth Regional Police with 30 years service. Special thanks to Dr. C. Ambis and The Clarion Nursing Home for their care. Private family interment to take place. There will be a Celebration of Life Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 1-4 p.m. at Stoney Creek Royal Canadian Legion #622. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice.
