JENSEN Ray

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of Ray Jensen on July 19, 2019. Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia February 21, 1934. Loving husband of Alice for 68 years, father of Al (Wendy) Jensen, Kathy Deveau, Rose (Randy) Davis. Loving Papa of Leah, Shannon, Trevor and Monica Jensen. Amanda and Stephanie Deveau, Olivia and Matthew Davis. Great-Grandfather of 10. Ray retired from Stelco after 25 years of service. Then he volunteered his time and started a soup kitchen while residing in Fort Erie. Ray was part of St John’s Ambulance. He also started and organized a baseball league at Roxborough Park. He became an avid skier as an adult. His favourite pastimes was portaging in Algonquin Park and working on puzzles. He attended Cheyne Presbyterian Church where he was baptized as an adult. Ray’s favourite phrase was “stay out of trouble but have fun” which we will remember in our hearts forever. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday, July 24th from 5-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Cheyne Presbyterian Church, 7 King St. W., Stoney Creek, on Thursday, July 25th at 11 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
