Obituary of Pearl Newell

Mom passed peacefully on March 3, 2022, in her 98th year. Mom was born in Hamilton on April 16, 1924. Beloved mother to Darlane Jespersen (Keith), Heather Newell, Philip Newell (Ali) and Japhia Cowling (Brian Donst). Predeceased by our dad (Bill) and Japhia. Much loved ‘Oma’ to eleven grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. Mom devoted her life to her family, to her ministry as a pastor’s wife, and to her years serving and travelling with Dad for World Vision Canada. Mom loved endless games with her grandchildren, and also enjoyed music. She knew the words to every hymn and 1940’s tunes by heart. We are so grateful to the staff at Heritage Green Retirement Home in Stoney Creek, for the care that Mom received.

“That I might finish my course with joy” Acts 20:24 was one of Mom’s favourite Bible verses, and she was certainly a testament to that!

A private family celebration will be held in honour of Mom.
