I hope that although your world is dark right now, you are soon able to find light in the memories you had with your loved one.
Dougie was a charismatic as they come! He will always be remembered for his laughter and comical sense of humour. We’ve shared countless memorable May 24’s, Superbowl’s and of course Good Friday Hikes over the years with our special group of friends and family.
You will be sadly missed, and forever hold a poker chip at the games table! Cheers my friend.

First I want to send my sincerest condolences to Douggys wife and kids if I could take your pain away I absolutely would...now about Douggy he was close with my step dad (Hory) everytime I seen Douggy he had a new story to tell me about their shenanigans lol I seen Douggy about 2 weeks ago and as I walked into spurs to see my mom (Sandi) I got bombarded by a bunch of people as I haven't been there in a while and I never walk by Douggy without giving him a huge hug and this day I kinda did (not on purpose) and he said hey your just gonna walk past me like you don't know me and I felt like s**t and said absolutely not I'm so sorry I got bombarded he laughed and said it's ok kid and gave me the biggest hug as he always does and kissed the top of my head I never thought that would be the last time I would see him he was one of the most amazing men I have been lucky to have in my life with him being friends with my step dad he kept Horys legacy alive with all the stories now we will all do the same for you I hope Hory didn't bust your chops at the Pearly gates (probably charged a fee lmao) please give him the biggest hug for me and never ever forget how freaking awesome you really were watch over your wife and kids and guide them day by day I know how much you hated me saying it so for one last time " Teach Me How to Douggy" love and miss you so much already

Friends are the family we choose. From the moment we met you and Terri, you welcomed us in and made us feel like we had always been a part of your family. Dougie, there are so many things I’ll miss about you—our dance parties, Jenga games, fireside singalongs, and just sitting on the deck, listening to your incredible ability to recognize every song, especially when you played Doctor Hook and knew every word.
Each of us will miss that warm smile and the tough exterior that hid the kindest, most fun-loving person we were lucky enough to call family. I know you'll be watching over us, laughing at our antics. And don’t worry, we’ll take care of your beautiful wife and boys, just as you would have done for any of us.

For ~20 years as kids through young adults, we were best friends. As life evolved into adulthood, we drifted. The few times we connected over the past few decades wasn’t enough. I cherish the times we had together, and the fond memories.
